Ajmer, November 4 (Udaipur Kiran): The world-famous Pushkar Fair witnessed a grand spiritual spectacle on Tuesday as saints and mahants from across the country performed a royal holy dip (Shahi Snan) at the Saptarishi Ghat on the auspicious occasion of Brahma Chaturdashi, the third day of the Panch Tirth Snan. The holy town of Pushkar was immersed in devotion, faith, and festivity throughout the day.
The morning began with the Maha Abhishek of Lord Brahma before the Mangala Aarti, followed by the display of 56 Bhog offerings and the Maha Aarti ceremony, marking the completion of the religious rituals.
Under the guidance of Achalanandacharya Maharaj of Sain Bhakti Peeth and Mahant Premdas Maharaj of Ram Ramaiya Ashram, a royal procession of saints was carried out. The procession passed through Ramdham Tiraaha, the Gurudwara, and High-Level Bridge before reaching the Saptarishi Ghat. The air resonated with kirtans and chants of the Lord’s name, as devotees showered flowers to welcome the saints proceeding towards the sacred lake.
At the ghat, the saints performed worship and rituals at the Brahma Sarovar, taking the ceremonial dip. Saint Mahadev Maharaj, symbolically representing Lord Shiva, bathed in the sarovar and blessed devotees. The rituals included a Havan and Yagya amid Vedic chants, followed by an Aarti accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the Damru, spreading messages of environmental protection, de-addiction, peace, and harmony in society.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood Night held on Monday at the fairground enthralled audiences with soulful performances by playback singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathod, as the crowd responded with applause and cheer.
So far, 6,685 animals have arrived at the fair, out of which 790 have been sold, generating a trade value of Rs. 3.51 crore.
The day’s schedule included events such as the Matka Race at 10:30 a.m., Musical Chair Race at 11:30 a.m., Rural Sports Competitions at 1 p.m., followed by Maha Aarti at 6 p.m., Voice of Pushkar – Folk Artists’ Performances at 6:30 p.m., Ramayana enactment at 7 p.m., and a Kavi Sammelan (poetry session) at 9:30 p.m.
The Pushkar Fair will conclude on Wednesday, Kartik Purnima, with the Maha Snan, when lakhs of devotees will take a sacred dip in the Brahma Sarovar to earn divine blessings and spiritual merit.
