Police Constable Arrested for Taking Rs 20,000 Bribe

Jaipur, November 28 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bhiwadi team arrested a police constable while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 in Paniala police station area of Kotputli–Behror district.

Director General of Police, ACB, Govind Gupta said that a complaint was received by the ACB Bhiwadi team in which the complainant stated that his nephew and niece were returning home from Nangal Chaudhary when their vehicle got scratched while overtaking another vehicle. The owner of the other vehicle lodged a complaint at Paniala police station. Later, a compromise was reached between the parties.

However, police constable Praveen Bagoriya of Paniala police station did not allow the compromise to be completed and demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000. On negotiation, the deal was fixed at Rs 20,000, with a threat to register a case if the bribe was not paid.

After verification of the complaint, the ACB Bhiwadi team, under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Parmeshwar Lal, conducted a trap operation and caught police constable Praveen Bagoriya red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 20,000.
