Udaipur, September 14: A special preventive campaign is being conducted across Rajasthan from September 14 to 30 to curb the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation and sale of liquor, following directions from Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta.
Under the campaign, excise teams are carrying out effective action through nakabandi, patrolling and raids. Following a zero-tolerance policy under the direction of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta, action is being taken against the smuggling of liquor from other states as well as the illegal manufacture, transportation and sale of liquor.
In Nagaur’s Parbatsar police station area, a raid led to the seizure of a drum containing 200 litres of spirit, and a case was registered. In Pali, an excise team conducted a joint operation with railway police and seized 50 bottles of English liquor marked for sale in Haryana. In Hanumangarh’s Bhadra police station area, 31 country liquor pouches were seized from a motorcycle.
At Excise Police Station Sangaria, two accused who were absconding in an illegal liquor case were arrested. In Tonk, the Excise Police Station Malpura seized 288 country liquor pouches. In Deoli, 9 litres of illegal country-made liquor, 308 country liquor pouches, 29 beer cans and 124 pouches of English liquor were seized, and cases were registered.
In Kekri’s Sawar area, 52 litres of illegal liquor were seized and a case was registered.
Similarly, all Additional Excise Commissioners (Zones), Deputy Excise Commissioners, District Excise Officers, Excise Inspectors and excise preventive teams across the state are taking action against illegal liquor under the zero-tolerance policy.
Finance Principal Secretary to Hold Review Meeting in Jodhpur on September 15
A meeting of all excise officials of the Jodhpur Zone will be held under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Finance Vaibhav Galaria at the Marwar International Centre in Jodhpur on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 1 pm.
The meeting will review progress towards revenue targets under the current policy provisions, liquor lifting, recovery of outstanding dues and preventive actions, among other matters.
The Additional Excise Commissioner of the Jodhpur Zone, Deputy Commissioner Excise Preventive Team, all District Excise Officers and Assistant Excise Officers from the General and Preventive Teams will participate in the meeting.
