Udaipur witnessed a vibrant start to the ‘Pedal to Jungle-9’ campaign aimed at raising awareness on forest conservation and organ donation. The first phase featured a grand ‘Rush Hour Ride’ held on Sunday at Fateh Sagar Lake, organised jointly by the Forest Department, Green People Society, and Udaipur Cycling Club, with support from WWF India and Innocent Street Friends Society.
The cycling event dedicated to wildlife conservation began with the flag-off by Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mr. Sedu Ram Yadav and Chief Conservator of Forests Udaipur Mr. Sunil Chhidri. The ride covered a distance of approximately 14 kilometres, starting from the Dewali end of Fateh Sagar, passing through Rani Road and Old City Udaipur, and concluding at the Fateh Sagar waterfall.
A large number of cycling enthusiasts, environmental activists, and socially conscious citizens participated enthusiastically. The participants collectively conveyed messages on environmental protection, forest preservation, and the importance of organ donation to society.
During the event, prominent attendees from Green People Society included Rahul Bhatnagar, Dr. Sharad Srivastava, Pratap Chundawat, Dr. Indra Mathur, Sunil Vashisht, Shaitan Devda, Rajendra Chauhan, and S.N. Shaktawat.
Rahul Bhatnagar stated that the upcoming phases of ‘Pedal to Jungle-9’ will continue to promote environmental conservation and social causes through various activities. The cycling initiative not only encourages health and fitness but also inspires a sense of responsibility towards nature.
