Patna, August 31: Bihar government minister Deepak Prakash has responded to various issues including deaths caused by spurious liquor, reservation, comments on Dalit students by Rahul Gandhi, statements about Muslims by Mohan Bhagwat, and the current flood situation.
In response to Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks about the abolition of reservation, Minister Prakash stated, “Where is the talk of ending reservation? He is unnecessarily politicizing this issue. Reservation is not being abolished at all. The opposition is creating confusion regarding this matter.”
He emphasized that the government is fully committed to reservation and accused the opposition of misleading the public with such statements. “No decision has been made regarding reservation, nor is there any plan to abolish it in the future,” he added.
Regarding the tragic incident where four people died after consuming toxic liquor, Minister Prakash remarked, “This is a sad event where lives have been lost. The administration is investigating where negligence occurred. Action will be taken against those responsible, and families will be compensated as per the rules.”
On Rahul Gandhi’s claims about atrocities against Dalits in North India, Prakash said, “If Rahul Gandhi is referring to a specific place, he should clarify where this incident is happening. If such incidents are occurring, it is indeed tragic. The government is working to ensure that backward classes can connect with the mainstream.”
Commenting on Mohan Bhagwat’s statement in the USA that Hindus in India do not want Muslims to be excluded, Minister Prakash stated, “Our country is known for its unity in diversity, which is recognized worldwide. There should be a spirit of inclusivity among the people of society. If injustice is happening to anyone, efforts should be made to ensure justice.”
