Udaipur Kiran, September 1: A major tragedy was averted in the Butoli village of the Laxmangarh area in Alwar district, Rajasthan, on Monday when a 9-year-old boy, Bhanu, fell into a 400-foot deep borewell while chasing a kite. After a grueling rescue operation that lasted nearly five hours, he was safely pulled out, bringing immense relief and joy to the villagers present at the scene.
According to reports, Bhanu, son of Shishram, was running towards the fields to catch a kite when he accidentally stepped on a stone placed over an old borewell. As the stone shifted, he fell directly into the borewell, getting stuck at a depth of approximately 40 to 50 feet.
Villagers immediately alerted the authorities and police. By around 6:30 PM, the administration sprang into action, initiating rescue and relief operations at the site.
Additional Superintendent of Police Priyanka Raghuvanshi stated that police and administrative officials reached the location promptly after receiving the information. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were deployed for the rescue operation, with several officials including SDM Manisha Resham, Tehsildar Manish Kumar Sharma, DSP Narendra Kumar, and Station Officer Rajesh Kumar present at the site.
Excavation began around the borewell using JCB machines to facilitate the rescue. The rescue team continuously provided oxygen and water to the child while closely monitoring his condition throughout the operation.
After nearly five hours of intense effort, the rescue team achieved success around 11 PM, bringing Bhanu safely out of the borewell. The crowd present erupted in applause, and his family was visibly emotional, shedding tears of relief and joy.
ASP Priyanka Raghuvanshi confirmed that the child is in good health and was able to communicate after being rescued. As a precaution, he has been sent to a nearby hospital for a medical check-up.
