Raichur, September 1: Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra announced on Tuesday that the party’s fight against the state government has commenced and will continue even after the conclusion of the 10-day ‘Ballari Chalo’ foot march. He claimed, “Today marks the beginning of a new era for the Bharatiya Janata Party.”
Speaking to the media after praying at the Shri Amreshwar Temple in Gurugunta before the protest march, Vijayendra accused the Karnataka government of being “corrupt, anti-people, and anti-Dalit.”
He alleged that the government was forced to bow to BJP pressure, stating, “A corrupt minister resigned out of fear of our protests. The government had to be compelled into this situation. When we announced the foot march and accepted the resignation, the government yielded.”
It is noteworthy that Planning and Statistics Minister B. Nagendra resigned after the BJP consistently announced strikes, alleging his involvement in irregularities within the Tribal Welfare Board, disrupting the monsoon assembly session.
Vijayendra mentioned, “The foot march may conclude on September 10, but our fight against this government will continue.” The BJP plans to expose the government’s alleged failures and corruption over the next one and a half to two years.
He asserted, “We will unveil this anti-people and corrupt government. We will uproot this government. Until then, our struggle will persist.” He further stated that a BJP-led NDA government should come to power in the state in the future.
Vijayendra described the ten-day protest march from Lingasagur to Ballari as a historic foot march, stating that all senior party leaders would participate. He added, “Leaders from North Karnataka will participate in large numbers. Our workers are very enthusiastic and will actively take part in the march. This will be a historic foot march.”
He revealed that former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa (Vijayendra’s father) would inaugurate the march. Other expected participants include former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai, opposition leader R. Ashok, and several local legislators and party leaders.
Vijayendra noted that the number of participants in the protest is not as significant as the duration and intensity of the BJP’s fight against the government.
