Shimla : The wait for the monsoon in Himachal Pradesh is about to end soon. The southwest monsoon is expected to make its entry into the state this week. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will enter the state by June 28. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for rain and storm from June 27 to June 30. There is a warning of heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning on June 28. This alert specifically includes the plains and mid-hill regions, and people have been advised to remain cautious.

The department predicts that the arrival of the monsoon will bring heavy rainfall across the state. This year’s monsoon is expected to be normal.
Surender Paul, Director of the Meteorological Center in Shimla, stated that the pre-monsoon activities are currently causing rain in the state. There is a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and rain in the mid and high hill areas during the next 24 hours, i.e., on June 25, while the weather is expected to remain clear in the plains. He mentioned that on June 26, the weather will likely remain dry except in the high hill areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, and Kullu. The rainfall is expected to start on June 27 and continue until June 30, during which the monsoon is expected to make its entry into the state.
