Gwalior, August 25: Train services passing through Gwalior will be affected for around 40 days due to construction of a ballastless track at Platform No. 1 of Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Junction. The work will be carried out from November 20 to December 29.
To keep train operations running during the construction, Railways has decided to divert, cancel, short-terminate/originate, regulate and reschedule several trains.
Gwalior-Barauni Mail to run via Etawah
Train 11123 Gwalior-Barauni Mail will run via Gwalior–Etawah–Kanpur from November 20 to December 29 instead of going through Jhansi.
In the return direction, 11124 Barauni-Gwalior Mail will run via Kanpur–Etawah–Gwalior from November 19 to December 28. Both trains will not operate through Jhansi during this period.
Taj Express to remain limited to Gwalior
Trains 12279 and 12280 Taj Express will be short-terminated and short-originated at Gwalior from November 20 to December 29. The trains will not go up to Jhansi during this period.
Khajuraho-Udaipur City Express to run only up to Datia
Train 19665 Khajuraho-Udaipur City Express will be short-terminated at Datia from November 21 to December 30.
In the opposite direction, 19666 Udaipur City-Khajuraho Express will be short-terminated/originated at Datia from November 19 to December 28. Both trains will have 40 trips each affected.
Routes of several trains changed
The following trains will run on alternative routes during the track work:
- 12410 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Raigarh Gondwana Express: From November 21 to December 29, on Fridays and Sundays, it will run via Mathura–Bayana–Sogaria–Ruthiyai–Bina.
- 12406 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Bhusaval Gondwana Express: From November 20 to December 27, on Fridays and Sundays, it will follow the same alternative route.
- 14622 Firozpur Cantt-Hazur Sahib Nanded Weekly Express: From November 20 to December 25, after Gwalior it will run via Gwalior–Guna–Bina instead of the Jhansi-Bina route.
- 14314 Bareilly-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Weekly Express: From November 21 to December 26, it will run via Gwalior–Guna–Bina.
- 14320 Bareilly-Indore Weekly Express: From November 25 to December 23, it will run via Gwalior–Guna–Ruthiyai–Maxi.
- 09466 Darbhanga-Ahmedabad Clone Special: From November 23 to December 28, after Govindpuri it will run via Etawah–Gwalior–Guna.
- 09465 Ahmedabad-Darbhanga Clone Special: From November 20 to December 25, it will run via Guna–Gwalior–Etawah–Govindpuri.
