Udaipur, August 22 – The Central Government’s Finance and Cooperation Affairs Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, inaugurated the MSME Cluster Dialogue Initiative from Udaipur. She highlighted the significant role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047. During a program held at the Marble Hall in Sukher Industrial Area, she addressed the gathering, which included MSME Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi and several key officials.
Finance Minister Sitharaman emphasized the government’s priority in enhancing the infrastructure for MSMEs and acknowledged their crucial contribution to eradicating unemployment. She discussed the feedback-based adjustments made post-budget announcements and how they are essential for grassroots impact.
Jeetan Ram Manjhi, the Minister for MSMEs, also spoke at the event, pointing out the significant employment potential of the MSME sector, which forms the backbone of India’s economy, contributing 30% to the GDP and employing over 200 million people.
The discussions at the event also focused on the unique challenges and opportunities within the MSME sector across India. These dialogues are set to be held across 250 MSME clusters nationwide, with Udaipur’s marble cluster marking the beginning.
The event was also graced by finance secretary M. Nagaraju and SIDBI Chairman Manoj Mittal, among other dignitaries. They discussed the future strategies to support and finance small industries directly, making it easier for small enterprises to access necessary funds.
