India Aims for Clean Sweep Against Afghanistan in T20 Series

New Delhi, September 16 (Udaipur Kiran) : Team India has already clinched the T20 series against Afghanistan by winning the first two matches. Rajeev Shukla, vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a Member of Parliament, expressed optimism that the Indian team will secure victory in the third T20 match, aiming for a clean sweep in the series. The final match is set to take place on Thursday.

Speaking at an event in New Delhi on Wednesday, Shukla stated, “The series is going very well. We have already won the series, and we will win the third match as well.”

Having already claimed the series, the upcoming match will serve as an opportunity for the team to enhance their preparations ahead of the Asian Games. This crucial encounter will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

During the same event, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) hosted a dinner for the Indian cricket team, where players shared their experiences of playing against Afghanistan and their interactions with Afghan players.

Ishan Kishan remarked, “Playing against Afghanistan is always enjoyable, as many of us have played with them in the IPL. We know they are great individuals, and there is always something to learn from them. I played with Nabi bhai in the Mumbai Indians, and he helped me a lot during batting sessions, often sharing insights on strategy and facing different bowlers.”

He added, “One of the most impressive qualities of the Afghanistan team is their hunger and determination. Whenever we play against them, you can see their eagerness to take wickets and compete at the highest level.”

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma noted that playing against Afghanistan provides valuable experience for young players due to their aggressive style of cricket.
