Heavy Rainfall Expected in 15 Cities of Rajasthan

Udaipur, August 22 (Udaipur Kiran): Rajasthan is once again bracing for heavy rainfall. On Thursday, around 15 cities, including Jaipur, experienced light to heavy rain. Rashmi in Chittorgarh received the highest rainfall of 85 mm. Other areas that witnessed significant rainfall include Gudhagodji in Jhunjhunu (70 mm), Raipur in Bhawar (68 mm), Udaipurwati in Neemkathana (69 mm), Aligarh in Tonk (64 mm), and Kotkhwada and Shahpura in Jaipur (60 mm and 50 mm respectively). The Meteorological Department has predicted an increase in rainfall activity in the coming days.

According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, a low-pressure area is situated over the Arabian Sea off the Karnataka and Goa coasts, and another over northern Bangladesh and its neighboring areas. The monsoon trough is also passing through Sri Ganganagar and Rohtak.

Due to this system, monsoon activity is likely to remain active for the next 5-6 days in many parts of eastern Rajasthan, with light to moderate rainfall and heavy rainfall at isolated places in Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions. Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Kota and Udaipur divisions on August 25-26. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected at some places in Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions of western Rajasthan, with heavy rainfall at isolated places in the Jodhpur division on August 25-26.

On Wednesday, heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated places in Rajsamand, Baran, Kota, and Ajmer districts. The highest rainfall in eastern Rajasthan was recorded in Nasirabad, Ajmer (89 mm), and in western Rajasthan, it was recorded in Ahore, Jalore (51 mm). The highest maximum temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jalore, and the highest minimum temperature of 29.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Falaudi.

Apart from Jaipur, other places like Tonk, Dausa, Ajmer, Sikar, Jodhpur, Churu, Sri Ganganagar, Jalore, Hanumangarh, Sirohi, and Karauli also received rainfall on Thursday.

Rainfall Brings Down Jaipur’s Temperature Jaipur experienced light to moderate clouds since morning. The city received scattered rainfall on Thursday. Due to the rainfall, Jaipur’s daytime temperature decreased by more than one degree. The maximum temperature in Jaipur was recorded at 31.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature at 25.7 degrees Celsius.
