The iPhone 16 is Apple’s next flagship smartphone series, expected to be unveiled later this year. Although no official information about the phones has been released, it is already known that one of the highlights of the iPhone 16 series is Apple Intelligence, a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features for Apple devices. Rumors have emerged in recent weeks that Apple has released several Apple Intelligence features in beta, but they will not be available when the iPhone 16 series launches, which has led to speculation that the next iPhone series could be completely delayed. However, a new report suggests that this is not the case.
Release of the iPhone 16
Bloomberg’s Mark Garman claimed in the Power On newsletter that the launch of the iPhone 16 series will not be delayed, even if Apple’s smart features are delayed. As usual, the smartphone will be presented at the Apple event in September.
Apple has a history of releasing new iPhone ranges with the latest operating system updates in September, but sometimes the launch is delayed due to the need for software refinement, e.g. B. the first iPhone. The 4S was announced in October 2011 but was originally scheduled for June.
This development builds on Mr. Gorman’s other claim of using Apple Intelligence. According to Gorman, Apple’s AI suite will not be included in the iOS 18 update, which is expected to be released to the public with the iPhone 16 series. Instead, it is expected to be released in October with the iOS 18.1 update. However, some of Apple’s most notable features may not be included at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 on June 10, such as Image Playground, which allows users to generate AI images through notifications.
According to Garman, some of Apple’s smart features could even be delayed until 2025. This could include the advanced artificial intelligence integration of Siri, Apple’s voice assistant for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is speculated that these features could be rolled out to developers in January 2025 and later that same year with the iOS 18.4 beta update.
