Beijing, June 7: LG has launched a new budget-friendly monitor in China, providing a practical option for those looking to enhance their basic desk setup without a hefty investment. The newly unveiled LG 24U411B is priced at 649 yuan (approximately $96), and despite its entry-level cost, it meets several essential requirements for both casual gamers and remote workers.
The monitor features an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. At 23.8 inches, the 1080p resolution offers a standard pixel density that keeps text clear without the need for operating system scaling. While the resolution is typical for this size, the standout feature is its 144Hz refresh rate, which provides smoother cursor movements, window dragging, and web page scrolling compared to standard 60Hz or 75Hz office monitors.
For gaming enthusiasts, LG has included a 1ms Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) setting to minimize ghosting in fast-moving images. Additionally, it supports AMD FreeSync Premium, synchronizing the monitor’s refresh rate with the graphics card to prevent screen tearing and reduce input lag during gameplay.
In terms of color performance, LG claims the panel covers 99% of the sRGB color space, making it suitable for general web browsing, video watching, and basic photo editing. The monitor also accepts HDR10 signals; however, due to its price point, it lacks the local dimming and high brightness levels necessary for true HDR performance. Nevertheless, the wide sRGB coverage ensures accurate display of standard colors.
The design of the 24U411B is minimalistic, featuring thin bezels on the top and sides, which is beneficial for users planning to set up dual monitors. It comes with a basic, slim stand that occupies minimal desk space. For software functionality, it is compatible with the LG Switch app, allowing users to adjust settings and manage screen layouts using their mouse instead of physical buttons. It also includes standard Flicker Safe and Reader Mode settings to reduce blue light and screen flicker.
Connectivity options are basic, with the back of the monitor equipped with one HDMI 2.2 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio passthrough, and a DC power input. Notably, there is no DisplayPort, USB-C video input, or built-in USB hub for peripherals.
