Mumbai, June 25: The trend of crime and thriller stories on OTT platforms is rapidly increasing. One such new web series, ‘Rakh,’ is capturing the audience’s attention. Actor Ramdeep Yadav, who plays a significant role in the series, spoke about his character.
He explained that his role is not just about instilling fear; there is a long story and thought process behind it.
In an interview, Ramdeep Yadav mentioned, “I portray a character named Rajjo, who is a serial killer. This character is not one-dimensional. It evolves and progresses, while another character in the series is depicted as more aggressive and violent. There is a significant difference between my character and that one.”
When asked whether he portrayed anger and violence thoughtlessly, he responded, “That’s not the case. An artist does not just play a character from the outside. They need to understand every aspect. From an outside perspective, it may seem like the character acts impulsively, but in reality, there is a thought process behind every scene. No matter how evil a character may be, there is always a reason behind their actions.”
Ramdeep Yadav elaborated on his character, saying, “My character hails from Haryana and has faced many hardships in life. He has encountered numerous troubles. The Emergency period significantly impacts his life, leading him to fall into addiction. All these factors have altered his way of thinking and living, which is why my character has become what he is.”
The web series ‘Rakh’ is a crime and thriller story set against the backdrop of the 1970s. It is said to be inspired by a real incident involving the kidnapping and murder of children, which prompts a team of police and investigative agencies to solve the case.
The series features notable actors like Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, Prosit Roy, Anusha Nandakumar, Aamir Bashir, and Sandeep Saket in key roles.
