New Delhi, October 22 (Udaipur Kiran): The second edition of the Indian Navy’s biannual Commanders’ Conference begins in New Delhi today, following the successful completion of Operation Sindhu. The three-day event, scheduled from October 22 to 24, will focus on enhancing the Navy’s combat preparedness, joint operational capabilities, and interoperability with the Indian Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

According to Navy spokesperson Captain Vivek Madhwal, Defence Minister and the Cabinet Secretary will address the Naval Commanders during the conference. Their addresses are expected to focus on broader national interests and the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. The conference aims to provide a platform for close interaction between the national leadership, defence officials, and naval commanders, reinforcing the Navy’s strategic approach to tackle multidimensional challenges in the current geo-strategic environment.
The conference will also feature addresses by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), followed by in-depth discussions with senior naval leadership. The dialogue will centre on optimizing resource utilization for joint planning and operational execution across services.
Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi will review and assess plans with the Commanders-in-Chief concerning the overall security situation in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The discussions will include operational tasks, training priorities, and resource availability to ensure mission readiness.
Commanders will also deliberate on the Navy’s future roadmap, focusing on key drivers such as enhanced operational logistics, digitization, and technological innovation. Special sessions will explore the role of AI, Big Data, and Machine Learning in developing disruptive technologies for effective warfighting solutions and uninterrupted operations in secure environments.
The top naval leadership will undertake a comprehensive review of operational preparedness along both the western and eastern seaboards. The conference will further emphasize indigenisation and innovation under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, and advance the government’s SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision.
Discussions will also highlight India’s growing role as the preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean Region and Indo-Pacific, underscoring the Navy’s commitment to regional stability and maritime security.
