Jaipur, April 16 (Udaipur Kiran): Heat conditions are intensifying across Rajasthan, with both day and night temperatures rising significantly. On Wednesday, more than 10 cities, including Sriganganagar and Churu, recorded daytime temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, along with mild heatwave conditions.

Scorching Days Increase Discomfort
Clear skies and strong sunlight over the past 24 hours pushed temperatures higher across the state. Cities such as Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Phalodi, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer recorded maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.
Barmer recorded the highest temperature at 42.8 degrees Celsius. Mild heatwave conditions were observed in Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Phalodi. Due to intense heat and hot winds, daytime activity declined, and roads in desert districts remained largely deserted.
Nights Turn Unusually Warm
Night temperatures have also increased noticeably. Phalodi recorded the season’s highest minimum temperature at 29.2 degrees Celsius. Jaipur and two other cities also experienced their warmest nights so far this season.
Further Rise Expected
According to Jaipur Meteorological Centre Director Radheshyam Sharma, temperatures are likely to rise by another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next week. In western districts, maximum temperatures may reach or cross 44 degrees Celsius.
