Government Stands with Victims of Lucknow Fire Incident

Lucknow, June 23: The Uttar Pradesh government is actively responding to the tragic fire incident at a coaching center in Aliganj, Lucknow. In the wake of the disaster, which claimed the lives of several students, the government has pledged financial assistance to the victims’ families and promised a thorough investigation with strict action against those responsible.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak described the incident as deeply tragic and heart-wrenching. He stated that the state government has immediately provided ₹5 lakh in financial aid to the families of the deceased. Additionally, each affected family will receive ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s relief fund.

Pathak emphasized, “During this time of grief, the entire government stands with the victim’s families. We will fulfill any further needs that arise. The government is taking every necessary step to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty in the investigation.”

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also expressed profound sorrow over the incident, noting that the loss of 15 promising students has saddened the entire nation. He confirmed that an investigation has been ordered, with a thorough examination of all aspects of the case. Maurya highlighted the alarming lack of safe exit routes at the location where such a large number of students were studying, calling it unfortunate. He assured that if negligence by officials is found, action will be taken against them as well.

In the aftermath of the Lucknow incident, the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has also entered action mode. A large-scale investigation campaign has been launched in Kakadeo, a major educational hub in the city. Several coaching institutes have been inspected for potential violations of safety standards and building regulations, leading to actions against multiple establishments.

During the raids, several coaching institutes were evacuated. The administration has stated that the safety of students is the top priority, and no institution will be allowed to overlook safety regulations.
