New Delhi, May 2: Gold and silver prices have seen a notable decline this week, with gold becoming cheaper by ₹1,000 and silver by over ₹3,000. According to the India Bullion Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has decreased by ₹1,216, now standing at ₹1,50,263 per 10 grams, down from ₹1,51,479.

The price of 22-carat gold has also dropped to ₹1,37,641 per 10 grams from ₹1,38,755, while 18-carat gold is now priced at ₹1,12,697 per 10 grams, down from ₹1,13,609. The lowest price for gold this week was recorded on April 29 at ₹1,47,973 per 10 grams, while the highest was on April 27 at ₹1,51,186 per 10 grams.

Silver prices have similarly fallen, now at ₹2,40,331 per kilogram, down by ₹3,494 from ₹2,43,828. The lowest price for silver this week was also on April 29 at ₹2,36,300 per kilogram, with the highest on April 27 at ₹2,43,720 per kilogram.

Internationally, gold prices have decreased to approximately $4,585 per ounce, while silver is around $74 per ounce, attributed to global instability. Experts suggest that the decline in gold and silver prices is due to indications of rising inflation from the Federal Reserve and strict comments that have reduced the likelihood of interest rate cuts this year. Additionally, the persistent high levels of crude oil prices are putting pressure on gold and silver prices.
