Jaipur, May 2: Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a remarkable victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by chasing down a target of 226 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday. This win marks DC’s largest successful chase in IPL history. Captain Axar Patel expressed his delight post-match, commending the performance of his players.
After the match, Patel stated, “Even after the last match, I mentioned in an interview that you have to come every day and keep doing the same things. You can always change things up. I am very happy with the way the boys played.”
In this match, DC included Mitchell Starc in their playing eleven. The Australian legend made a significant impact by taking three wickets. Patel praised Starc’s performance, saying, “He is a legend of the game. Coming back after three months and performing like this on such a wicket shows how great a player he is. I am very happy that Starc is back and showing everyone why he is such an excellent bowler.”
Starc claimed the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Riyan Parag, and experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, conceding 40 runs in his four overs.

On the importance of taking the wickets of Vaibhav and Yashasvi during the powerplay, Axar remarked, “As a captain, you cannot be happier than this. If you can dismiss the key batsmen of the opposing team who can change the game during the powerplay, no one is happier than me at that moment.”
Reviewing the match, RR won the toss and batted first, scoring 225 runs for the loss of six wickets. DC chased down the target in 19.1 overs, finishing with three wickets in hand. KL Rahul, who scored 75 runs, was named Player of the Match.
