Jaipur, February 17 (Udaipur Kiran): Amid intense daytime heat across Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy conditions and rain in more than 20 districts of the state today. Thunderstorms with light rainfall are likely in parts of both eastern and western Rajasthan on February 17 and 18.

With winter receding, heat has started making its presence felt across the state, including Jaipur. Daytime temperatures in both western and eastern regions have crossed 30 degrees Celsius, making it uncomfortable to stand in direct sunlight even for a few minutes. The department has indicated that minimum temperatures may see a slight rise over the next two days.
According to the daily weather report, the state remained dry over the past 24 hours, with several districts recording a rise in temperature. Barmer recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.8 degrees Celsius, while Alwar registered the lowest minimum temperature at 7.4 degrees Celsius. The average humidity across the state ranged between 11 and 54 percent.
As per the forecast, maximum temperatures were recorded as follows: Ajmer 30.7°C, Bhilwara 31.2°C, Alwar 31.8°C, Jaipur 30.0°C, Pilani 32.4°C, Sikar 30.5°C, Kota 31.1°C, Chittorgarh 33.0°C, Barmer 34.3°C, Jaisalmer 32.5°C, Jodhpur 33.1°C, Bikaner 33.8°C, Churu 32.6°C, Sri Ganganagar 30.1°C, Mount Abu 23.0°C, Nagaur 31.7°C, Dungarpur 32.2°C, Jalore 32.2°C, Sirohi 25.3°C, Fatehpur (Sikar) 32.5°C, Karauli 31.3°C, Dausa 31.7°C and Jhunjhunu 31.1°C.
The department has issued a rain alert for Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Phalodi, Jalore, Pali, Sirohi, Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Churu, Nagaur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Tonk and Bhilwara, along with nearby areas. These districts may witness thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall.
Weather experts believe that under the influence of a western disturbance, temperatures may witness a slight dip over the next two to three days. However, after this period, temperatures are likely to rise again. For now, most parts of the state will continue to experience warm conditions during the day. The mercury crossing 35 degrees Celsius in February itself signals an early onset of summer-like heat.
