Udaipur Heat Crosses 40°C, No Relief Expected

Udaipur, April 20 (Udaipur Kiran): Udaipur is witnessing intense heat conditions, with temperatures crossing the 40°C mark for the first time this season, creating conditions similar to peak summer months.

On Sunday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 40.2°C and a minimum of 21.6°C, with strong sunlight throughout the day. Just a day earlier, the maximum temperature stood at 39.5°C, indicating a steady upward trend.

Weather data over the past week shows a continuous rise in temperature. On April 13, the maximum was 39.2°C, which dipped slightly to 38.6°C on April 14, before climbing again. By April 15, it reached 39.5°C and remained around 39°C on April 16 and 17. The sharpest increase was recorded on April 18, when the mercury touched around 40.5°C.

Night temperatures have also increased, adding to discomfort. The minimum temperature rose from 18.4°C on April 13 to nearly 24°C by April 17, indicating warmer nights and growing humidity levels.

According to the Meteorological Centre Jaipur, there is no immediate relief expected. The department has warned that temperatures may rise further by 2 to 3 degrees over the next two days, with daytime highs possibly reaching 41–42°C in several parts of the state.

Health experts have advised people to avoid stepping out between 12 noon and 4 PM, stay hydrated, and take precautions against heat exposure. The rising temperatures have led to quieter streets during the afternoon hours, with residents relying on cooling measures to cope with the heat.
