Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Nabs Officer in Bribery Case
Jaipur, January 30 – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Pali Unit arrested Narendra Singh, an Inspector of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Division, Pali, for accepting a bribe of ₹4,000 on Thursday. The official was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by ACB.

Bribe Demanded to Process Verification File
According to ACB Director General Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, the bureau received a complaint against Inspector Narendra Singh.
- The complainant’s firm, operating from his residence, was under verification.
- The CGST officer demanded a bribe to process the file and avoid penalty imposition on the business.
- During the verification process, Singh insisted on receiving ₹4,000 as a bribe.
Trapped and Arrested
Based on the complaint, ACB Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Khiv Singh led a trap operation. On Thursday, the accused was caught accepting ₹4,000 in bribe money.
In a desperate attempt to evade arrest, Narendra Singh threw the bribe money onto the road upon noticing the ACB team, but the amount was promptly recovered.
Booked Under Prevention of Corruption Act
The accused has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigations are underway.
ACB officials have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on corruption, ensuring strict action against government officials involved in bribery.
