Jaipur, September 14, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Govind Prasad, Assistant Engineer at Panchayat Samiti Bhusawar in Bharatpur district, red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a complainant.
The action was carried out on Monday by the ACB Bharatpur unit following directions from the ACB headquarters.
According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, a complaint was received at the ACB Bharatpur outpost alleging that Govind Prasad had demanded ₹30,000 in exchange for verifying and signing the measurement book and work completion certificate of the complainant contractor and co-complainant.
Following the complaint, a trap operation was conducted under the supervision of ACB Range Bharatpur Deputy Inspector General of Police Omprakash Meena. The operation was carried out under the direction of Amit Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB Bharatpur, with a team led by Police Inspector Mahendra Singh.
During the operation, the accused Assistant Engineer was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting ₹30,000 from the complainant.
Further questioning of the accused and other proceedings are underway under the supervision of ACB Inspector General S. Parimala. The ACB will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and conduct further investigation.

The ACB said that if a case, complaint or preliminary inquiry is registered against any person, the concerned person can directly contact the ACB and submit their side or clarification. The ACB said that analysing such clarification in detail before taking a decision during the investigation is part of its procedure.
The ACB also appealed to people to remain alert against possible fraud in the name of ACB proceedings.
