Kyiv, March 8 : Ukraine intelligence has claimed a Russian general has been killed during the fighting in Kharkiv, making him the second general to have been killed in a week. The Guardian quoted the Ukrainian defence ministry as stating that Maj Gen Vitaly Gerasimov, chief of staff of the 41st Army, had been killed outside the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, along with other senior officers on Monday. Earlier, deputy commander Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky, was confirmed by Russian media to have been killed. The ted Nations human rights office on Sunday said 364 civilians in Ukraine have been killed since Russia’s invasion on February 24. Meanwhile, over 1.5 million refugees have fled the country. RNJ
