Three Arrested for Creating Obscene AI Images of Actress Rukmini Vasant

Bengaluru, June 19: The Karnataka State Cyber Command has arrested three individuals for allegedly using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create and circulate obscene images and videos of actress Rukmini Vasant on social media, following her complaint.

Based on Rukmini Vasant’s report, a case was registered under various sections of the Information Technology Act and relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Bengaluru.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had used AI technology to fabricate inappropriate images and videos of the actress, intending to tarnish her image and present her in a derogatory manner. The police stated that this act harmed the actress’s reputation and privacy, causing her mental distress and misrepresenting her to the public.

A special investigation team was formed to identify and apprehend the suspects. Based on the evidence collected during the inquiry, three individuals were arrested, and three mobile phones used in the crime were seized.

The arrested suspects have been identified as 24-year-old Ravikumar from Chilkamukhi village in Bagalkot district, 33-year-old Chandrakant currently residing in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, and 25-year-old Ranjit from Mahalaxmi Nagar, Bengaluru.

The police have presented all the accused in court. According to the Karnataka State Cyber Command, strict action will continue against cases involving the misuse of AI technology on social media that harm an individual’s reputation and privacy. Anyone engaging in such activities will face severe consequences.
