Agra Cantt–Asarva Superfast Train Made Permanent

Udaipur, April 8 (Udaipur Kiran): In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience, North Western Railway has made the Agra Cantt–Asarva Superfast Express a permanent service from Wednesday. The train, which was earlier operated on a temporary basis, will now run regularly five days a week.

Member of Parliament Dr Mannalal Rawat expressed gratitude to the Railway Minister for the decision and said that it will help strengthen rail connectivity in the region.

According to information shared with the MP by the Railway Ministry, the Agra Cantt–Asarva Superfast Express will now operate with train number 20178, while the Asarva–Agra Cantt Superfast Express will run as train number 20177. From Agra Cantt, the train will run five days a week, except Monday and Tuesday. From Asarva, it will operate five days a week, except Tuesday and Wednesday.

The train will depart from Agra Cantt at 6:45 pm and pass through Bayana, Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur, Keshorai Patan, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Chanderiya, Mavli Junction, Rana Pratap Nagar, Udaipur City, Zawar, Dungarpur, Shamlaji and Himmatnagar, reaching Asarva at 11:00 am the next day. From Asarva, it will depart at 3:00 pm and reach Agra Cantt at 7:15 am the following day.

It is noteworthy that the Railway Ministry had earlier also made the Jaipur–Udaipur special train service permanent in view of passenger demand. Dr Rawat said efforts will continue to further improve rail services in Udaipur, with several proposals currently under consideration by the Railway Ministry. Work is also underway to improve connectivity between Udaipur and southern regions.

In addition, the fare for the train has been reduced after it was made permanent. The Second AC fare has been reduced from Rs 1,735 to Rs 1,460, while the Third AC fare has come down from Rs 1,235 to Rs 1,015. The sleeper class fare has also been lowered from Rs 460 to Rs 395, providing relief to passengers.
