Jaipur, 15 December (Udaipur Kiran) — Acting on directions from the ACB Headquarters, the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Bikaner SU Unit on Tuesday arrested Purushottam Joshi, a Tax Assistant in the Commercial Taxes Department, Bikaner, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹50,000.

ACB Director General Govind Gupta said the bureau had received a complaint stating that the accused was demanding ₹50,000 from the complainant for settling a recovery notice. The complainant alleged that Joshi had been harassing him with repeated demands for the bribe.
Under the supervision of DIG Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav (Bikaner), a trap was laid by Additional SP Ashish Kumar and his team from the ACB Bikaner SU Unit. During the operation, Purushottam Joshi was caught red-handed while taking ₹50,000 as bribe.
On interrogation, the accused claimed that he intended to give the bribe amount to his colleague Kalicharan Joshi, Senior Assistant, who is currently being searched for by the ACB team.
Additional Director General of ACB Smita Srivastava is overseeing further investigation. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and detailed inquiry is underway.
