Jaipur, December 25 – The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory for Rajasthan, forecasting rain and hailstorm in several districts due to the influence of a new western disturbance. Cloudy skies are expected on December 26 and 27, accompanied by light to moderate rain and hail in some areas. Dense fog and misty conditions will persist in 22 districts on Wednesday, impacting visibility and increasing the chill in the air.

Drastic Drop in Temperatures Across Rajasthan
The recent spell of rain has significantly lowered daytime temperatures across the state. Districts like Bikaner, Churu, Mount Abu, and Ganganagar have seen maximum temperatures dip 5°C below normal levels. Tuesday witnessed dense fog, cold winds, and a sharp drop in visibility, causing severe cold conditions.
- In Churu, visibility reduced to just 30 meters early Wednesday morning due to dense fog.
- Maximum temperatures across Rajasthan fell below 25°C on December 24.
- Dungarpur recorded a minimum temperature of 5°C, a sharp 10-degree plunge, while Mount Abu registered a chilly 3.8°C.
- Other districts like Bikaner, Sikar, and Ganganagar also reported minimum temperatures significantly below the seasonal average.
Cold Day Conditions Persist in Several Regions
Districts in northeastern and southern Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Bikaner, Churu, and Hanumangarh, experienced cold-day conditions due to persistent fog and icy winds. These conditions are expected to intensify in the coming days, with the IMD predicting further dips in temperature.
Rain and Hailstorm Warning
The IMD has issued a rain alert for most districts on December 26, excluding Hanumangarh, Pali, and Sirohi. On December 27, a statewide alert has been issued for rain and hailstorm activity. With cold and wet weather predicted to escalate, residents are advised to take necessary precautions.

- Farmers are advised to protect crops from hail damage and excessive moisture.
- Wear warm clothing to combat the cold and reduce exposure to icy winds.
