He fled from the jail on May 22 in the year 2002. Naya and some other prisoners escaped the prison and were living at different places under fake names. Udaipur police had a tip about Naya that he was working as a labourer in Falasiya and a team comprising of DySP Ratan Chawla, circle inspector Hanwant Singh and others were assigned the task to nab the absconding prisoner. The team arrested the prisoner from a religious place in Falasiya on Thursday.
