BRS Ready for Judicial Probe into KCRs Family Assets

Hyderabad, September 17 (Udaipur Kiran) : BRS Executive President K.T. Rama Rao, commonly known as KTR, announced on Thursday that his party is prepared for a judicial investigation into the assets of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and CM Revanth Reddy’s family. KTR emphasized that this inquiry should be overseen by a sitting High Court or Supreme Court judge.

KTR’s statement came in response to Revanth Reddy’s recent declaration in the Assembly regarding the investigation into KCR and his family’s land holdings. Speaking to the media after hoisting the national flag at Telangana Bhavan on National Integration Day, KTR expressed his complete faith in the judiciary. He insisted that the investigation should not be conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) but rather under the supervision of a current judge.

He also stated that if any wrongdoing is proven on his family’s part, they are fully prepared to face legal consequences. KTR asserted that KCR had significant ancestral property long before entering politics, describing his father’s life as an “open book.”

KTR noted that KCR was born in 1954 into a landowning family, with ancestral land spanning hundreds of acres. He explained that the family’s property was initially located in the Konapur area, with some land acquired for an irrigation project in the 1930s. The compensation received allowed KCR’s father to purchase land in Chintamadaka, where the family eventually settled.

KTR questioned whether the current land holdings should be viewed as a decrease in assets, pointing out that after 72 years, the family now owns only 67 acres. He remarked on CM Revanth Reddy’s previous claims about a “1,000-acre farmhouse,” which were contradicted by his recent admission of the actual land size.

KTR challenged the CM to apologize for what he deemed false propaganda and accusations against KCR. He stressed that individuals in high constitutional positions should maintain dignity and that the Assembly should not serve as a platform for false allegations and misleading statements.

He criticized the state government’s failure to fulfill electoral promises, claiming that after 1,000 days of governance, the administration has shown signs of stagnation and inefficiency. KTR also alleged that the BRS legislative party was undemocratically suspended from the Assembly to evade accountability on critical issues.

Accusing the government of collaborating with the BJP to conduct Assembly proceedings in the opposition’s absence, KTR challenged the CM to extend the monsoon session by a month and to revoke the suspensions. He insisted that instead of claiming the opposition lacks the courage to confront him, the CM should engage with pressing issues facing the people of Telangana, such as pension schemes and agricultural support.

KTR described the CM’s lengthy speech in the Assembly as a glaring example of ignorance, lacking coherence or substance. He asserted that many of the CM’s previous claims, including those regarding secret tunnels for treasure beneath the integrated secretariat, have been thoroughly debunked.
