Udaipur, March 28 – In a swift breakthrough, Udaipur Police have arrested two accused involved in a broad daylight firing incident that took place on March 23, 2025, in the Hiran Magri area. The accused allegedly opened fire outside the residence of a local resident, Chatar Singh Solanki, with the intent to intimidate him over a land dispute.

According to the FIR filed by Chatar Singh, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. in Sector-3, Rishinagar. Two individuals arrived on a motorcycle, and one of them, wearing a mask, asked Singh’s wife to call him outside. As Singh stepped out, the masked individual fired a pistol at him. Singh narrowly escaped the bullet by ducking behind the gate. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Taking the incident seriously, Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal directed an immediate investigation. Under the supervision of Addl. SP Umesh Ojha and DySP Chhagan Purohit, Station Officer Bharat Yogi formed two special teams. Using intelligence and technical surveillance, the police traced and detained the attackers from Surat-Mumbai Highway.
Accused Identified
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
-
Subhash Lohar, son of Madan Lal, resident of Dagiyo ki Pancholi, currently residing in Vaishali Nagar, Pratapnagar, Udaipur.
-
Raghuveer Singh alias Vishal, son of Shambhu Singh, resident of Matun, Hiran Magri, Udaipur.
A third accused, Dalpat Singh, believed to be the mastermind who orchestrated the attack, is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to nab him.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the motive behind the firing was a dispute over a land transaction. Chatar Singh, Dalpat Singh, and others had entered into a property deal in Udaipur. When the deal fell through, the opposite party demanded a refund. While others were willing to return the money, Dalpat Singh refused. Chatar Singh pressured him to return the funds, leading Dalpat Singh to plan the attack to intimidate and silence Singh using his nephew Raghuveer Singh and associate Subhash Lohar.
