Jaipur, September 17 (Udaipur Kiran) : In the recent municipal elections in Rajasthan, results have been declared for the wards where re-polling took place. The Congress party emerged victorious in all four remaining wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. The winning candidates include Kailashi Devi from Ward 9, Bandita Sharma from Ward 18, Rekha Devi from Ward 25, and Suresh from Ward 34.
In Kota, re-polling results showed a mixed outcome. Congress candidate Kamlesh Kumari won in Ward 11, while the BJP secured victories in Ward 44 with Prem Singh and Ward 87 with Pushpa Chaudhary. Following these results, the BJP now holds 57 seats in the Kota Municipal Corporation, while Congress has 39 seats and independents have 4. With a total of 100 wards, the BJP has achieved a majority and is in the process of finalizing its mayoral candidate.
In Suket Municipality, Congress candidate Mohammad Rafiq won Ward 4 by a margin of 117 votes. Meanwhile, in Jodhpur’s Ward 50, BJP candidate Hemaram Chaudhary defeated Congress’s Yuvraj Singh by 83 votes after a re-poll ordered due to EVM malfunction at Booth 338. Chaudhary received 1,725 votes, while Singh garnered 1,642 votes. The results indicate a close contest in Jodhpur, with the BJP holding 45 seats, Congress 44, one from the RLP, and 10 independents.
