New Delhi, September 18 (Udaipur Kiran) : New Zealand’s Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 25 years of public service, noting significant changes in the Indian economy and the prosperity of its people. Speaking in New Delhi, McClay emphasized Modi’s focus on education, the establishment of more universities, and substantial investments in infrastructure.
He highlighted Modi’s ambition to increase farmers’ and producers’ incomes by 50% by 2035, expressing New Zealand’s commitment to supporting this mission. McClay mentioned that New Zealand aims to introduce advanced technologies in India, similar to those used in his country, to enhance farmers’ earnings.
As Modi approaches this milestone on October 7, he continues to lead India towards its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. McClay pointed out that New Zealand has previously engaged with India across various sectors and has signed multiple agreements, including in trade.
He stressed the importance of energy security, particularly in renewable energy, and noted that both nations have advanced their relationship through security cooperation. The New Zealand government is keen to strengthen ties with India further and increase investments.
With elections approaching in New Zealand, McClay hopes to visit India before the end of the year.
