
Udaipur : In a violent clash that took place between police and a mob from Basantgarh village of Sirohi district, on Tuesday, six cops were injured and vehicles were damaged. The incident took place near Bekariya police station of Kotra block in Udaipur.
A married woman had died after consuming pesticides and her husband’s family had arranged for a hasty funeral without informing her parents. When the woman’s relatives came to know of her death they protested and took her body to the hospital mortuary. They alleged that the woman was murdered and it was not a suicide. For two days the woman’s relatives had camped in the area and demanded ‘Mautana ‘ while the police tried to pacify them for an amicable settlement without Mariana. On Tuesday finally they set off to attack the other side and when the police tried to deter the party, they pelted stones and attacked the police team with sticks and arrows. Six cops who sustained injuries have been referred to Udaipur, sources said.
