Udaipur MLA Tarachand Jain takes charge of Aayar River Renovation

Udaipur : Udaipur city MLA Tarachand Jain has taken charge of the renovation of the Aayar River. On Wednesday, Jain visited the river for the second time and expressed anger over the construction of a wall on the river bed by the Smart City.

Jain instructed Smart City officials to coordinate with other departments and demarcate the entire river within seven days. He warned that he would raise the issue in the assembly if the instructions were not followed.

In his previous visit, Jain had instructed Smart City officials to carry out construction in the river according to the demarcation. He had also asked them to make a surprise visit again.

On Wednesday, Jain, along with BJP leaders and workers, visited the river again with Smart City CEO CR Devasi and Executive Engineer Dinesh Pancholi. Jain inspected the construction works in Alipura.

Jain was angry to see the wall being constructed on the river bed instead of the banks. He told Devasi that Smart City officials were building the wall without demarcating the river, which would allow private landowners to encroach on the river land. Jain also pointed out that the wall was old.

Jain asked Devasi to hold a joint meeting of the departments concerned with the Aayar River, including the irrigation department, the UIDAI, the municipal corporation, the Smart City, and the Girwa sub-divisional officer. He said that the demarcation should be done from the beginning to the end of the river before the beautification work could be carried out.

Jain also instructed Smart City officials to demolish all the encroachments on the river within seven days. He said that he would raise the issue in the assembly if the instructions were not followed.

BJP leaders Nanalal Vaya, Siddharth Sharma, and Omprakash Chittor were present during the visit.
