
Udaipur : MLA Tarachand Jain and District Collector Arvind Poswal today visited the Ayar River area. The purpose of the visit was to review the progress of the ongoing works for the beautification of the Ayar River and to know the status of the demarcation being carried out to identify the encroachments in the river bed.
During the visit, MLA Jain, District Collector Poswal, and other officials inspected the development works going on from Lake City Mall to Seva Ashram. They also went down into the river bed to see the status of the demarcation being carried out as per the earlier instructions.
MLA Jain advocated for the removal of encroachments at the earliest to restore the original form of the river. The District Collector assured of fair action. The joint team visited the colony situated on the banks of the river and saw the signs of river demarcation. On being told by the people that they have the lease of their houses, the District Collector assured that no action will be taken against those who show valid documents.
MLA Jain recommended the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to cancel the lease of the buildings situated in the river flow area near Subhashnagar Rapet. The Commissioner assured action as per rules. The District Collector directed to complete the demarcation after studying all the facts and submit the report at the earliest. Further action will be taken on the basis of the said report.
