Two More Arrested in Ajayraj Murder Case, Total 32 Held

Udaipur, April 5 (Udaipur Kiran): Police have arrested two more accused in the Ajayraj Singh murder case, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 32.

According to police, the latest arrests include Vinod Gurjar, who was involved in the crime, and Monu Jat, who allegedly provided shelter to main accused Bherulal Gurjar. So far, 15 accused directly involved in the murder and 17 others who helped them escape have been arrested.

Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi said the incident took place on June 1 at around 10:30 pm near Semalpura on the Udaipur-Kota four-lane highway. The victim, Ajayraj Singh Jhala, was sitting on the rooftop of Vikas Hotel with his friends when the attack took place.

As per the investigation, Manoj Chaudhary allegedly conducted reconnaissance and shared the location with Ishwar Singh alias Hariom Singh and his associates. The accused reached the hotel in three vehicles with around 15 people and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Ajayraj Singh on the spot. After the murder, the attackers vandalised vehicles and set them on fire using petrol.

Police registered a case at Kotwali police station based on a complaint by Omprakash Sharma and formed multiple teams to trace the accused. Earlier, key accused including Ishwar Singh alias Hariom Singh, Harshvardhan Singh, and Bherulal Gurjar had already been arrested.

Vinod Gurjar was detained from his village Kanyakhedi under Hamirgarh police station limits and later arrested. Monu Jat, a resident of Rupaheri in Bhilwara district, was arrested for allegedly providing shelter to the absconding accused and was produced before the court.

Police said further investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused who helped the main culprits.
