DUNGARPUR, July 27: Three people, including a Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) head constable, were killed and another was seriously injured after a speeding Bolero hit two motorcycles in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district on Sunday night. The driver fled the scene with the vehicle, and police have launched a search after registering a case.

Bolero Hits First Motorcycle
According to police, the accident occurred at around 8:30 PM near Antari village under Varda police station limits. A speeding Bolero allegedly rammed a motorcycle from behind.
The motorcycle was carrying Dhul Singh Chauhan (55), a head constable posted with the 13th RAC Battalion, and his cousin Mahipal Singh (54). The impact threw both riders onto the road, leaving them critically injured.
Driver Flees, Hits Another Bike
After the first collision, the Bolero driver attempted to flee and hit another motorcycle a short distance away.
The second motorcycle was carrying Dinesh Rot (21) and Sandeep (29), who also sustained serious injuries.
Local residents rushed all four injured men to Dungarpur District Hospital. Doctors declared Dhul Singh Chauhan and Dinesh Rot dead on arrival. Mahipal Singh, who was referred to Udaipur for advanced treatment, later succumbed to his injuries. Sandeep remains admitted to Dungarpur District Hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.
Police Register Case, Search for Driver
A case has been registered at Varda Police Station based on a complaint filed by Digvijay Singh Chauhan, son of the deceased head constable.
According to the complaint, Dhul Singh Chauhan was returning home on a motorcycle with his cousin after completing duty when the speeding Bolero struck them from behind and fled without stopping.
Police reached the accident site and the hospital after receiving information. After post-mortem examinations, the bodies of the three deceased were handed over to their families.
Police have registered a case against the Bolero driver for rash and negligent driving, fleeing after causing an accident, and causing death by negligence. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to trace the accused.
Head Constable Given State Honours
Head Constable Dhul Singh Chauhan was posted at the Dungarpur District Jail. He was cremated with state honours at his native village, Varda, on Monday. Police personnel paid their last respects with a ceremonial salute and floral tributes. A large number of villagers, police officials, and public representatives attended the funeral.
Student Among Those Killed
The other deceased, Dinesh Rot (21), was pursuing a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) in Udaipur. He belonged to a farming family and was the eldest among four siblings. His father is a farmer, while his mother is a homemaker. His untimely death has left the family devastated.
