In a press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated, “Imposing sanctions and exerting pressure does not resolve the issue.”

These measures are particularly significant for China, as analytics firm Kepler reports that it purchases over 80 percent of the oil exported from Iran.
