Udaipur, August 4 (H.S.) – A shocking incident took place on Monday in the maternity ward of the Nathdwara District Hospital in Rajsamand district, where an unidentified woman dressed in nursing staff uniform abducted a three-day-old newborn boy. The incident caused panic in the hospital premises, and the baby’s family was left devastated.
According to the information received, Vidya, wife of Chetan Bhil and a resident of Sukhadia Nagar, had given birth to a son three days ago. On Monday afternoon, a woman in nurse’s uniform entered the ward, claiming she needed to take the baby for a health check-up. She then asked the baby’s aunt to fetch an Aadhaar card and, in her absence, fled with the newborn.
When the woman did not return for a long time, the mother became suspicious and informed her family. The family immediately alerted the hospital administration, which then informed the police. Police officers arrived at the hospital and began their investigation.
CCTV footage from the hospital is being reviewed, and efforts are being made to identify the suspect based on available clues. A case has been registered in this regard, and police teams have been formed to search for the infant. The hospital administration has also initiated an internal inquiry into the incident.
