Jaipur, March 20: A weak Western Disturbance became active late Wednesday night, bringing cloud cover over Bikaner, Churu, and nearby areas. Today, its impact will extend to nine districts, including Jaipur and Alwar, where gusty winds reaching 40 km/h, cloudy skies, and sporadic rain with possible hailstorms are expected. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for these areas, warning residents to prepare for sudden weather changes.

In Sawai Madhopur, the disturbance has kept the skies cloudy for the second consecutive day, causing a 3°C drop in minimum temperature, now recorded at 19°C, while the maximum temperature remains 34°C. On Wednesday, most cities in Rajasthan experienced clear skies and strong sunshine, leading to a 1-3°C rise in maximum temperatures.
The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Barmer at 37.8°C, followed by Dholpur, Dausa, and Pali at 36°C, Jalore at 36.9°C, Jaisalmer at 36.7°C, Phalodi (Jodhpur) at 36.2°C, Chittorgarh at 36.7°C, Jodhpur at 35.6°C, Bikaner at 35.1°C, Dungarpur at 35.8°C, and Kota-Ajmer at 33.8°C. By late evening, Bikaner, Churu, Phalodi, and Jaisalmer saw light winds, followed by partial cloud cover overnight.
Jaipur witnessed bright sunshine throughout the day, with the maximum temperature recorded at 33.2°C and the minimum at 17.4°C. The city experienced mild heat, while Dausa recorded a high of 36°C, making it warmer than Jaipur.
The Meteorological Department, Jaipur, has issued a yellow alert for Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur, Alwar, Dausa, and Bharatpur, predicting gusty winds, cloud cover, and light rainfall. The Western Disturbance is expected to weaken by March 21, after which dry conditions will prevail for the next 4-5 days, with temperatures rising by 2-3°C across the state.
