New York, July 14 (Udaipur Kiran) – A shooting at a nightclub in Birmingham, Alabama, resulted in the deaths of four people. Additionally, nine others were injured, with several in critical condition, and are receiving ongoing medical treatment.
According to Birmingham police, officers responded to a report of gunfire at 11:08 PM on 27th Street North, at the 3400 block, where a nightclub is located. Shortly after the incident, Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) arrived at the scene and found an adult male dead on a nearby sidewalk. Inside the nightclub, two women were also found dead. Several injured individuals were transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital by BFRS personnel or private vehicles. One person was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital. At least nine additional gunshot victims are being treated at UAB Hospital.
The police are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting. Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated that it is believed at least one suspect fired shots from the street into the nightclub. No suspects have been taken into custody so far.
