Jaipur, December 4 (Udaipur Kiran): As per the directions of the state government, Rajasthan Police is maintaining special sensitivity towards crimes against weaker and deprived sections of society and strictly implementing the new criminal laws. The positive impact of these efforts is now clearly visible.
Based on data recorded till November for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025, a significant decline has been registered in crimes against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. This reduction is being attributed to sensitive policing, prompt action and strict and effective enforcement of the law.
Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma said that according to CCTNS data, SC/ST atrocity cases declined by 28.23 per cent in November 2025 compared to November 2023. There was also a 17 per cent reduction when November 2025 figures were compared with November 2024. These figures reflect continuous and effective corrective steps taken by the police under the guidance of the state government to strengthen law and order and ensure the safety of weaker sections.
The DGP said that in November 2023, a total of 10,273 SC/ST atrocity cases were registered, which came down to 7,373 cases in 2025, showing a reduction of 2,900 cases. In 2024, 8,883 cases were recorded, which further declined to 7,373 in 2025, reflecting a 17 per cent drop within one year.
Faster FIRs and Speedier Investigation
Rajasthan Police has consistently adopted a strict and sensitive approach in the investigation of crimes against weaker sections. The policy of prompt FIR registration under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act has increased public confidence and accelerated investigations. The average investigation time, which was 124 days in 2023, reduced to 109 days in 2024 and further dropped to 75 days in 2025, marking a significant improvement in investigation speed.
Major Success in Crime Control
DGP Sharma said that strict monitoring and faster investigation in serious crimes such as murder, rape, abduction, grievous assault and SC/ST atrocities have yielded highly positive results in crime control.
Disposal Within 60 Days Under New Criminal Laws
Under the new criminal laws, Rajasthan Police is focusing on the disposal of cases within 60 days to ensure speedy justice to the victims, he added.
