CM Mohan Yadav Praises Bhopal Master Plan 2047 Amid Congress Criticism

Bhopal, September 26 (Udaipur Kiran) : The Madhya Pradesh government has unveiled the draft of the Bhopal Development Plan 2047, marking a significant step towards the planned development of the state capital. This long-awaited plan has been a topic of political contention for years and has now entered the objection phase before its final notification.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that the objective of the Bhopal Development Plan 2047 is to transform the city into a green, prosperous, and inclusive urban space. In a post on the social media platform X, he stated, “The aim is to develop Bhopal as a green, prosperous, and inclusive city.”

Yadav highlighted the importance of collaboration among public representatives, business leaders, citizens, and officials for the successful implementation of the plan. He noted that the participation of various societal segments will be crucial in shaping the proposed development framework.

Political reactions from the Congress party have emerged following the draft’s release. Bhopal MLA Arif Masood accused the government of only advancing the process after intervention from the Supreme Court. He remarked, “The BJP should be ashamed of taking credit for its implementation. The draft was released only after the Supreme Court’s reprimand, and now there will be three months for objections and claims.”

Former minister and Congress leader P.C. Sharma also stressed that only the draft has been released, not the final master plan. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the draft’s release but clarified that the final plan is yet to be published. Sharma recalled his 31-hour hunger strike in protest against the delay in releasing the plan, which, he claimed, was prepared during the Congress government’s 15-month tenure.

He urged citizens and business owners to review the draft and submit their suggestions and objections, while also confirming that the Congress party would share its views on the proposed plan.

The release of the plan has been welcomed by various business and trade organizations, who met with CM Yadav at his residence to express their gratitude. Over 100 representatives from groups such as CREDAI, the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and the Kolar Traders Federation attended the meeting.

Business leaders deemed the master plan essential for Bhopal and urged the government to finalize it ahead of the upcoming Global Investors Summit next year, asserting that it would facilitate investment and planned development in the city. State Minister and BJP MLA Krishna Gaur stated that the master plan will position Bhopal as an ideal capital, reiterating that the Mohan Yadav government is fulfilling its promises.
