Jaipur, March 26 – Rajasthan is expected to see a shift in weather patterns starting today, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a rain and thunderstorm alert for several parts of the state, especially in the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions. The activation of a new Western Disturbance has led to changes in temperature and cloud movement across the region.

Rain & Storm Forecast for Jodhpur and Bikaner Regions
According to IMD, light rain accompanied by gusty winds (20–30 km/h) may occur in parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions today. The impact of the disturbance could extend till March 28, with scattered rainfall and dust storms expected in a few districts.
Relief from Daytime Heat: Mercury May Drop 4°C
The state has been reeling under early summer heat, with temperatures nearing or exceeding 40°C in several cities on Tuesday:
Barmer: 40.2°C (Hottest in the state)
Pilani: Over 40°C
Chittorgarh: 40°C
Dungarpur: 39.6°C
Bikaner: 39.2°C
Jodhpur: 38.4°C
Kota: 38.3°C
Jaipur: 38°C
However, due to the incoming weather disturbance, temperatures may dip by 2 to 4°C in affected regions, bringing temporary relief from the scorching heat.
Clear Skies Likely in Other Parts of the State
While the Jodhpur-Bikaner belt is likely to experience showers and gusty winds, other regions like Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, and Ajmer may continue to witness clear skies with a slight drop (1–2°C) in temperatures.
On Tuesday, Jaipur recorded a high of 38°C with sunny skies, adding to the discomfort felt across the city due to intense sunlight.
