Rajasthan to Offer Free Pilgrimage to 56,000 Senior Citizens in 2026

Udaipur, May 18 (Udaipur Kiran) — The Rajasthan government’s Devsthan Department will provide free pilgrimage travel to 56,000 senior citizens under the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme-2026.

According to Devsthan Commissioner Laxmi Narayan Mantri, around 50,000 senior citizens will be taken on pilgrimage through rail services, while 6,000 beneficiaries will travel by air.

The department will soon begin accepting fresh applications for the scheme. Information related to the application process will be made available on the department’s official website.

Under the state budget announcement, citizens aged above 60 years will be eligible for free travel to 15 major religious destinations across the country through rail and air services. The scheme also includes free air travel to Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal.

Additional Commissioner Gitesh Shri Malviya said applicants must be permanent residents of Rajasthan to avail the benefit. Applications can be submitted personally or through e-Mitra centres.

Required documents include Jan Aadhaar Card, health certificate, self-declaration regarding non-payment of income tax and not having availed the scheme earlier, along with voter identity proof.

The selection of beneficiaries will be done through a lottery system from the received applications. The department said the official application dates will be announced soon.
