Jaipur, May 4 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Rajasthan, has arrested a Public Works Department (PWD) official in Alwar while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹25,000.
The accused, identified as Krishna Avatar Gupta, currently posted as Executive Engineer (TA) in the office of the Superintending Engineer, PWD Alwar, was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by ACB’s Alwar unit.

According to Director General of Police (ACB) Govind Gupta, a complainant had approached the bureau stating that a Letter of Intent (LOI) had been issued in the name of his nephew for setting up an HPCL petrol pump at Barkheda village on Laxmangarh Road, State Highway-44. The accused allegedly demanded ₹40,000 in exchange for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) required for the petrol pump installation.
During verification conducted on May 1, 2026, it was confirmed that the accused had already accepted ₹10,000 and was demanding an additional ₹25,000 as bribe.
Acting under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhuvan Bhushan, the ACB team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shabbir Khan laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting ₹25,000 from the complainant.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General S. Parimala. The accused is currently being interrogated, and further investigation is underway.
The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and is proceeding with further legal action.
