Udaipur, May 29 (Udaipur Kiran) – Under the special preventive campaign being conducted across Rajasthan against illegal liquor manufacturing, storage, transportation and sale, excise teams are carrying out intensive checking, patrolling and raid operations in various districts of the state.

The campaign is being conducted under the directions of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta. During the drive, illegal liquor was seized, wash was destroyed and multiple cases were registered in different districts.
According to the excise department, from May 1 to May 27, 2026, a total of 1,951 cases were registered under the special campaign and 894 persons were arrested across the state.
During the operations, officials seized 6,941 litres of country liquor worth Rs 18.72 lakh, 38,886 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 3.89 crore, 19,685 litres of beer worth Rs 44.25 lakh, 30 litres of spirit and 12,993 litres of illicit liquor.
The department also destroyed 5,27,234 litres of wash during the campaign.
Excise teams seized a total of 85 vehicles, including seven heavy vehicles, 12 light four-wheelers, one three-wheeler and 65 two-wheelers during the operations.
Under the campaign, action was taken in Pali where liquor meant for sale in Punjab was recovered from a grocery shop. In Dungarpur, the EPF team destroyed one illegal distillation unit and 500 litres of wash, besides recovering 10 litres of illicit Mahua liquor from the spot.
In Dholpur, during a naka checking operation, officials recovered 192 quarter bottles of country liquor of Ghunghroo brand from a motorcycle and arrested the accused on the spot.
Similarly, in Alwar district, excise officials destroyed 1,000 litres of wash during a raid at Dadar Sevdi village. The department said checking, patrolling and raid operations are continuing in various districts to ensure effective control over illegal liquor activities.
