Chennai, August 15: Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK leader M.K. Stalin extended his greetings to the public on India’s 80th Independence Day and urged citizens to collectively work towards building a nation based on equality, brotherhood, progress, and humanity.
In a message posted on the social media platform ‘X’, Stalin stated, “India must reject regressive tendencies and outdated practices while maintaining its pluralistic nature and national unity.”
In his Independence Day message, he emphasized, “Let us uproot regressive tendencies and ancient practices from our India and proudly uphold pluralism and unity.”
Stalin expressed hope for a bright future, stating that the country’s journey should lead to the fulfillment of the dreams and aspirations of millions. He stressed that a shared commitment to knowledge, energy, and constitutional values will play a crucial role in shaping India’s future.
He added, “May our nation’s journey towards a bright future be successful, where the dreams of millions come true. Let us build tomorrow with knowledge and energy, moving forward together with the values of equality, brotherhood, progress, and humanity.”
Stalin concluded his message by wishing everyone a heartfelt Independence Day. His statement came at a time when the entire nation was celebrating the 80th Independence Day with a spirit of patriotism.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay hoisted the national flag at Fort St. George in Chennai and delivered his speech on Independence Day.
Celebrations, cultural programs, and parades were organized across the state, with participation from government institutions, schools, colleges, and the general public.
Leaders from various political parties also extended their greetings to the public and paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during India’s struggle against British colonial rule.
